For the chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Use fresh or thawed chicken.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 cup flour All-purpose flour preferred.
  • 2 units eggs, beaten Acts as a binding agent.
  • oil spray Oil spray For coating the chicken before air frying.

For the sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Use your favorite brand.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Can substitute with fresh minced garlic.
  • salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  • Set up a dredging station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  • Coat each piece of chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

Cooking

  • Arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with oil.
  • Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  • While the chicken is cooking, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, garlic powder, and additional salt and pepper in a bowl to create the sauce.
  • Once cooked, toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until well-coated.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of paprika or cayenne pepper to the chicken coating. Customization options include using different sauces like BBQ or ranch.
