Ingredients

  • 1 unit Egg yolk Helps bind and enrich the dough.

Starch/Pasta

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour Measure correctly by scooping and leveling off.

Liquids/Dairy

  • 1 cup Warm milk Heat to 110°F before adding to yeast.

Aromatics & Vegetables

  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon Measure carefully for perfect spice balance.

Optional Finishing Ingredients

  • 8 oz Cream cheese frosting Soften the cream cheese before mixing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Activate the yeast in warm milk and sugar for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, melted butter, salt, vanilla, and the yeast mixture.
  • Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.

Rising

  • Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Filling

  • Combine softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips in a bowl.
  • Mix until smooth.

Rolling and Baking

  • Roll the risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface.
  • Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For flavor enhancement, add chopped nuts or more chocolate chips. Customize with different flavored gel food coloring.
