  • ½ piece Yellow Onion (finely diced) Aromatics for the base.
  • 5 tablespoons Butter For sautéing the vegetables.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Used for sautéing.
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • ½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream Brings creaminess to the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For color and taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon Powder Provides savory flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt the butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion, celery, and carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the veggies are softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in the cooked, diced chicken and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Cooking

  • Sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and chicken bouillon powder. Stir well for about 1 minute.
  • Add the all-purpose flour into the pot and mix continuously for 1-2 minutes until combined and lightly golden.
  • Slowly add the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes or until it thickens slightly.
  • Stir in the orzo pasta and let it cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender and creamy.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve in individual bowls with crusty bread for dipping. Garnish with fresh herbs for added flavor and presentation.
