Ingredients
  

Main Protein

  • 1 pound Boneless skinless chicken breasts Cut into even pieces for consistent cooking; cook to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Salt to taste Salt Generously season both sides of the chicken before frying.

Starch/Pasta

  • 4 rolls Soft sandwich rolls (brioche or ciabatta) Lightly toast the rolls for added texture.

Seasoning/Spice Blend

Liquids/Dairy

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Base for the slaw dressing.

Aromatics & Vegetables

  • 1 bag Pre-packaged coleslaw mix Saves time and adds crunch.
  • Fresh cabbage (optional) If using, shred finely.

Optional Finishing Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lettuce Layer on top for added freshness.
  • 1 medium Sliced tomatoes (optional) Adds freshness and zest.
  • 1/2 cup Pickles (optional) Add for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.

Cooking

  • Fry the chicken pieces for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard in a bowl to make the dressing.
  • Combine the coleslaw mix with the dressing in a separate bowl and toss until evenly coated.
  • Remove chicken from skillet, place on paper towels to drain excess oil, and toast sandwich rolls in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes.
  • Layer slaw, crispy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on each toasted roll and assemble.

Notes

You can add a splash of hot sauce to the slaw for spice. Consider variations like BBQ chicken or Mediterranean style.
