  • 4 large large potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold recommended for fluffy interior.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Extra virgin preferred for flavor and crispiness.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules Can substitute with fresh minced garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs Italian seasoning or a mix of favorites works well.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Kosher or sea salt recommended.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Wash and slice the potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic granules, dried mixed herbs, and salt until well coated.
  • Spread the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, avoiding overcrowding.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until edges start to turn golden.
  • After 15 minutes, carefully flip the slices over and bake for an additional 15 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

Serving

  • Once done, take them out of the oven, let them cool for a minute, then serve hot for the best taste.

Notes

Consider adding spices like paprika or chili powder for some heat. You can top with cheese or fresh herbs for elevated flavors. Serve with ketchup or aioli for dipping.
