Pudding Layer

  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz) This will add richness to the cake.
  • 2 cups cold milk Use whole milk for best flavor.

Topping

  • 1 tub Cool Whip (8 oz) or homemade whipped cream For a creamy finish.
  • 1 optional Easter sprinkles, mini chocolate eggs, or marshmallow Peeps Add just before serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch pan, then pour your prepared cake batter into the pan.
  • Bake as directed or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center, typically 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 20 minutes.

Assembly

  • Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork, poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake, approximately 1 inch apart.
  • In a bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk. Allow it to sit for about 2 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Slowly pour the prepared pudding over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  • Spread a layer of Cool Whip over the pudding evenly.
  • Decorate with your choice of optional toppings like Easter sprinkles or mini chocolate eggs.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes
