Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 1 pound fresh green beans Trimmed and rinsed
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms (button or cremini) Cleaned and sliced

Sauce

  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic Mince and add just before finishing
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Melt in the pan before adding vegetables
  • to taste salt Add while sautéing
  • to taste black pepper Add freshly cracked while sautéing

Preparation

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter until it melts and coats the pan.
  • Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  • Toss in the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften and the edges become golden brown.
  • Add the prepared green beans to the skillet, stir everything together, and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Sprinkle with salt and cracked black pepper, stirring to ensure everything is well-seasoned.
  • Check for doneness—green beans should be vibrant and slightly crunchy while mushrooms should be soft.
  • Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle lemon juice or zest before serving. Customize with toasted nuts or grated Parmesan.
