  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers (culinary grade)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped almonds or walnuts Optional for added crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon dried lavender (for sprinkling)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add honey, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Gradually add flour, baking soda, salt, and dried lavender flowers. Stir until combined.
  • If desired, fold in chopped almonds or walnuts for added crunch.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle each cookie with granulated sugar and a pinch of dried lavender.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Arrange cookies on a beautiful platter for serving.

Notes

Enhance flavor by using fresh lavender when possible. Customize by swapping honey for maple syrup for a different sweetness. Suitable for special occasions.
