Orange Teriyaki Salmon

Ingredients
  

Main Protein

  • 4 pieces Salmon fillets (6 oz. each) Use fresh salmon for the best flavor and texture.

Liquids

  • 2/3 cup Orange juice Use fresh juice for the best taste.
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce Consider low-sodium soy sauce for balanced flavors.

Seasonings and Aromatics

  • 1 tsp Orange zest Use a zester for fresh zest.
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar Monitor closely to prevent burning.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic amplifies the flavor.
  • 1 tsp Ginger (minced) Fresh ginger adds depth, adjust for strength.
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame oil Adds a nutty flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Combine orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, orange zest, and sesame oil in a bowl. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Place your salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the marinated salmon fillets on a lined baking sheet, skin-side down. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Halfway through the baking time, baste the salmon with the marinade.
  • Once out of the oven, let the salmon rest for 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Transfer the salmon to your serving plate, drizzle with any remaining sauce, and garnish with extra orange zest if desired.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice and sautéed vegetables. Top with green onions for additional flavor. Optionally, add sesame seeds for texture.
