  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch for thickening sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for browning beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste salt

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Brown the beef strips on all sides.

Cooking

  • In the crock pot, combine the browned beef, sliced bell peppers, sliced onion, beef broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir it into the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Serving

  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.
