Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Dice the red potatoes into small cubes, toss with oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them out on a baking sheet.
  • Roast for about 25 minutes until golden-brown and crispy, stirring halfway for even cooking.

Cooking

  • While the potatoes bake, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 lb of ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until fully cooked, with no pink remaining.
  • In the same skillet, remove excess grease if necessary, and then add 1 cup of chopped onions. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until they become soft and slightly caramelized.

Assembly

  • Begin layering by adding crispy potatoes as the base.
  • Top them with the cooked beef, sautéed onions, chopped lettuce, and sliced pickles.
  • Add a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese on top.

Serving

  • Serve warm and enjoy the fantastic combination of textures and flavors.
