  • 4 large Sweet onions Choose fresh, firm onions for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Softened for easy spreading.

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Herbs (such as thyme or rosemary), dried Use fresh herbs for better flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel the sweet onions and slice them in half.
  • Place the onion halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  • Spread a little butter on each onion half.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and your desired herbs over the onions.
  • Layer cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses on top of the onions.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

Incorporate roasted garlic for enhanced flavor. Customize your cheese blend by adding feta or Gouda for different taste profiles. Serve with crusty bread for a hearty option.
